Having a background in journalism and in visual art, I know the challenges of adapting for different audiences. I’ve lived and worked in Canada, Latvia and Hungary, written for print and web publications like CBC, Quill & Quire, The Coast, Canadian Art, The Baltic Times, the Saint John Telegraph-Journal, and other publications, on arts, lifestyle, news, business and travel. My own comics and graphic novels have been published in Europe, Canada and the US.

I’ve worked as a copy editor, editor and designer for print and online publications. I’ve edited for Canadian, American, British and international English and am a CMG Freelance union member. My academic background is in visual art, art history and a master’s degree in eastern European history, with a certificate in book publishing in the works. I am currently based in Toronto, Canada.

I’ve worked in communications with non-profits and NGOs like the Rainbow Refugee Association of Nova Scotia LGBTQI refugee association and with the Latvian LGBTQI organization Mozaika and am committed to inclusive and anti-oppressive language use.
